This Cookie Policy explains how Afrozim Taste UK Limited ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on afrozimtasteuk.co.uk, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences, or track behaviour, over time.
| Type | Purpose | Consent required? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keep you logged in, remember your basket, process checkout, security (e.g. CSRF protection) | No — essential to the service you've requested |
| Functional | Remember preferences (e.g. delivery address). Not currently used on the site — reserved for future features | Yes |
| Analytics | Understand site usage via Google Analytics — pages viewed, general location, device type. See Section 4. | Yes |
| Marketing | Not currently used on the site — reserved for future features | Yes |
We do not use non-essential cookies until you give consent via our cookie banner, in line with PECR Regulation 6. The site only sets the strictly necessary cookies described below regardless of your choice; Functional and Marketing cookies are not currently used (reserved for future features, so you won't need to make a fresh decision if they're added); Analytics cookies power Google Analytics, described in Section 4, and only load if you've said yes.
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
gwshop_session | Strictly necessary | A single, signed session cookie that keeps you logged in, remembers your basket, and secures forms against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). It doesn't hold your basket or account details itself — those are stored securely on our server, and this cookie just points to them. | 30 days, renewed on each visit |
cookie_consent | Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie preference so we don't ask again on every visit | 12 months |
When you pay, you're securely redirected to Stripe's own checkout page (on stripe.com), where Stripe may set its own cookies for payment processing and fraud prevention. These are set on Stripe's domain, under Stripe's own privacy and cookie policies, not ours.
Google Analytics: only if you've accepted Analytics cookies, we load Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies to measure site usage (pages viewed, general location, device type). If you haven't accepted Analytics cookies, nothing from Google Analytics loads and no usage data is collected.
We may also invite you to leave us a review on Google after a purchase, via a plain link on your order confirmation page and in your receipt email. This doesn't set any cookie and isn't part of the consent categories above — it's just a link, the same as any other link on the page.
These providers may also process data outside the UK; see our Privacy Policy, Section 6, for transfer safeguards.
When you first visit, you'll see a cookie banner letting you accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site — like checkout — from working.
We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. Check back periodically for updates.
